Jahvid Best was always impre sive at moving his way around the football field. Now, the former ' running back has moved multiple steps past the NFL in a very cool journey. The latest stop: The San Zydrunas Ilgauskas Jersey Francisco Police Department. The SFPD shared a cool video of Best on their social media accounts introducing himself after two years on the force. Best shared that he wanted to be a police officer when he was growing up, and that his time as a profe sional athlete translated because of dedication, focus and pre sure. Former Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best is now an officer with the San Francisco Police Department via Woodward Sports Network (@woodwardsports) MORE: The Lions drafted Best with the No. 30 overall pick in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of the University of California. Best ended up spending just three seasons in the NFL, running for 945 yards and receiving 774 yards before retiring due to concu sion i sues. After that, best represented his father's home country of Saint Lucia in the 2016 Olympics in the 100 meters. He ran 10.39 seconds in his heat and didn't advance. Best is a high school football coach in addition to his work with the SFPD. He has made the most of his journey after his football career didn't last as long as he would've liked.
