The are in the market for edge rusher help this offseason and the reportedly have one available that is of interest to Philly. According to , the Eagles have called the Vikings about a trade for edge rusher and former Pro Bowler Jonathan Greenard. Fowler says Greenard is a contingency plan if Jaelan Phillips isn't re-signed. The belief is Greenard will cost a Day 2 pick. "As a contingency, the Eagles are believed to have inquired aboutMinnesota'sJonathan Greenard," Fowler reported. "The Vikings have received many inquiries on Greenard, who will be far cheaper to acquire than Crosby. A Day 2 pick probably gets a deal done. But complicating matters is Greenard's contract. Teams say he wants a new deal. His current contract is set to J.J. Barea Jersey pay him $38 million over the next two years." When it comes to the Eagles and Phillips, Fowler says Philly has offered the former first-round pick a deal that would pay him "well above" $20 million per year, which would be a gamble considering Phillips' injury history. That said, it appears Phillips is intent on testing the open market, and if that turns out to be the case, all bets are off as far as him returning to the Eagles. ESPN's Adam Schefter reportedly recently that the Vikings have made , so he can be had. Greenard is coming off a season in which he struggled to the tune of three sacks, but he also battled through injury and mi sed five games. In the two years prior, Greenard tallied 24.5 sacks and earned his first Pro Bowl nod.
