The , in my mind, have made the hire of the offseason  Kaliq Lockett Jersey in Mike McDaniel, but the franchise hasn't exactly given him a lot to work with.  Yes, he has Justin Herbert and Ladd McConkey, but after that? Quentin Johnson and Trey Harris are the other weapons for Herbert.  Is that enough? I don't think so.  And it leaves Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano asking if a veteran will be signed to McDaniel's squad.  "Last year, the Chargers signed Mike Williams to be Justin Herberts experienced receiver, and when he suddenly retired, the team turned to old friend Keenan Allen one month before the season opener," .  "For this year, the Chargers dont have an experienced receiver on the depth chart and Allen is still available on the open market. Perhaps L.A. is content with allowing its younger players more opportunities to grow with Herbert."  MORE:  Could Chargers sign veteran WR?  They could, and they have the cap space ($45 million) to make just about any move they want to; the big question is, do they?  Looking at the options, there are some intriguing ones, such as Deebo Samuel, Stefon Diggs, Curtis Samuel, Keenan Allen, and DeAndre Hopkins.  But as Manzano wrote, the Chargers might be content in letting the younger receivers do their thing in 2026, as any veteran signed could be seen as a progre s stopper.  Right now, the Chargers seem content with the options they have, but adding a veteran might not be the worst idea.  More NFL news:  Andre Cojoe Jersey
